This initiative goes beyond transportation, adding value through sorting, repacking, and customized packing that support timely distribution of sensitive tropical cargo.
The limes are shipped in 40’ HC reefer containers, each carrying 22 pallets and a total of 5,280 cartons. Each carton weighs approximately 4.5 kg (net weight: 4.69 to 4.73 kg), ensuring consistency in handling and storage. The cargo is transported under strict cold chain conditions, maintained at +7°C, 85% humidity, and 25 CBM ventilation to preserve freshness and quality.
The EASYFRESH quality control team conducts thorough inspections at the Ridderkerk facility, including temperature monitoring and fruit assessment. Key findings include:
Temperature: 7.7°C to 8.0°C (average 7.9°C)
Coloration: Up to 90%, averaging 85%; light to deep green with a yellow undertone
Firmness: 80% firm, 20% slightly sensitive
Brix Level: 8.2% to 8.9% (average 8.6%)
Oleocellosis: Up to 6%, average 3% (light to moderate)
Skin Damage: Up to 6%, average 2%
Decay: Up to 2%, average 0.3%
Mould on Crown: Up to 4%, average 1% (light)
Packing Damage: Up to 2%, average 1%
All goods are stored at the same controlled temperature in EASYFRESH’s Breda warehouse. From there, EASYFRESH arranges transport to various destinations across Europe, including Ridderkerk (NL), Rungis (FR), and Madrid (Spain).
In 2024, EASYFRESH was recognized as the #1 importer of Brazilian limes, handling 5,200 x 40’ HC reefer containers. In 2025, the volume is expected to reach 7,500 containers. EASYFRESH also maintains strong capabilities in the handling of grapes, mangoes, limes, ginger, avocados, apples, pineapples, and bananas from various origins.
