Heavy-Lift Logistics for Nation-Building Projects
One of WLP’s major achievements was the ground transportation of approximately 20,000 metric tons of steel rebar, along with significant volumes of steel coils, for Consorcio HPH. This cargo was destined for the construction of Panama’s Metro Line 3, one of the country’s most strategic infrastructure projects. The operation demonstrated WLP’s proven capability to manage high-volume, heavy-tonnage cargo critical to national development.
Complex Flat Rack Operations Across Continents
WLP also executed the maritime shipping of 12 non-self-propelled concrete mixer trucks to Madagascar and Ivory Coast via flat rack containers from both Panama Canal gateways, Balboa Port (Pacific) and Manzanillo Port (Atlantic-Caribbean). Previously deployed in Panama’s Fourth Bridge project, the trucks required advanced flat rack expertise, including precise cargo securing and lashing. Coordinated with CMA CGM and Maersk through Panama’s strategic dual-ocean access, this operation highlighted WLP’s ability to handle oversized, non-standard shipments across international trade routes. When standard Ro-Ro solutions were not feasible, WLP engineered the solution from both sides of the Americas.
The Americas Hub: Connecting 16+ Countries Through Panama
Throughout 2025, WLP conducted hundreds of logistics operations across more than 16 countries in the Americas, from Canada to Argentina, including the U.S., Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, using multimodal transport. The Colón Free Zone warehouse serves as a strategic consolidation and deconsolidation hub, enabling inventory management and redistribution to regional and international destinations. This operational versatility underscores WLP’s capacity to deliver integrated logistics solutions tailored to diverse markets.
Panama’s Premium Coffee Exports: Specialty Cargo to Global Markets
WLP further demonstrated its expertise in handling high-value specialty products by managing the export of Panama’s world-renowned specialty coffee, including the prestigious Geisha variety, to discerning markets in the Czech Republic, Asia, and Europe. In 2025, WLP successfully executed these exports in collaboration with Access World Logistics (Thailand), a fellow Connecta network member. This operation highlighted WLP’s ability to provide white-glove logistics for premium products while leveraging strategic Connecta partnerships.
